In August at the annual LBJ Birthday Bash we heard from our Congressman Lloyd Doggett, who just won another term to represent us in Congress.

Despite attempts to gerrymander his district, Congressman Doggett continues to prevail because he stands up for all of us, not just those he physically represents. He is always here to support us in Hays County.

Subscribe to Congressman Doggett’s newsletter to hear what he is doing in Congress for you, me, and all of us in Central Texas.

Message from Congressman Doggett:

So much progress was made in the recent election, but more is needed to right our state and our country. We celebrate many Democratic victories for Hays County, though are disappointed at the close losses by Beto O’Rourke, Joseph Kopser, and others. Since I remain the only Central Texas representative who does not enable Trump, I encourage you to stay informed and involved to preserve our democracy and promote our shared values.

With the incoming House Democratic Majority, we can begin to reconstruct legislation that speaks for the people and demands accountability from President Donald Trump. I remain committed to protecting health care access and educational opportunities, among other policies. With the Senate under greater Republican control and a President who is clearly out of control, significant challenges await.   I will not back down from defending our values and advancing reasonable alternatives to the many outrageous policies that Trump seeks to impose.

Whether or not you reside within the physical boundaries of my gerrymandered congressional district, I seek to engage and reflect concerns of neighbors across our community.

Sincerely,

Lloyd
