Race to Replace Presents The Texas 21st Congressional District Democratic Candidate Forum Series
Austin, TX – The Austin-based grass roots organization Race to Replace will present the first in a five-part forum series for Democratic candidates running against Congressman Lamar Smith in the TX 21st Congressional District.
This first forum will take place at Evans Auditorium on the Texas State University Campus, on May 1 at 7 p.m. The candidate panel features eight of the nine candidates in the race against Congressman Smith, including Derrick Crowe, former staffer to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Congressman Adam Smith; Joseph Kopser, CEO of Grayline and a decorated Army veteran; and Ryan Allen, an emergency room physician at St. David’s in Austin, among others.
Race to Replace is proud to bring this candidate forum to San Marcos and Texas State for the kick-off event of the five-event series. The remaining forums will take place over the summer and early fall in Austin, Fredericksburg, and San Antonio. These forums will allow the Central Texas community to meet the candidates running against Lamar Smith, hear their positions on the many issues facing Central Texas, and engage the candidates with audience questions.
Tickets are free, and there is plenty of parking available surrounding Evans Auditorium on the Texas State University campus. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the event will begin at 7 p.m.
