Help Families Affected by Family Separations Policy
HCDP to staff collection station until Tue, Jun 26
The Hays County Democratic Party will staff a collection station between now and next Tuesday for personal care items needed by individuals affected by family separations who are being held in detention centers.
Senatorial candidate Steve Kling is teaming up with former congressional candidate Mary Wilson to take these items to Southwest Good Samaritan Ministries, which has a longstanding relationship with the Department of Homeland Security and can get these items to the families in need. Kling and Wilson will be taking these items when they travel to the Rio Grande Valley next Wednesday, June 27.
The collection station will be at the HCDP headquarters located at 125 N. Guadalupe Street in San Marcos, TX. Please only bring items during from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday, when the office will be staffed by a HCDP volunteer.
The final cutoff date to bring items is Tuesday, June 26 at 5 p.m.
Donations sought include shampoo, bar soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, diapers, feminine products, towels and clothes.
