Early voting is Feb. 18-28, and election day is March 3. Your vote is important to ensuring that our county party maintains the leadership it needs to be successful in November.
★ HCDP chair for past two years, successfully leading the effort to turn Hays County blue in 2018 — involving precinct chairs, candidates and thousands of volunteers
★ Retired career educator and past president of the Texas State Teachers Association
★ Buda resident for 20 years
★ University of Texas graduate
Under Donna Haschke’s leadership as county chair over the past two years, the Hays County Democratic Party has grown rapidly in the number of Democratic gains, including:
• the level of voter turnout
• the number of precinct chairs and volunteers
• the growth and support of our Democratic clubs and organizations
• the growth in donations and number of sustaining donors
• the attendance and participation of precinct chairs at HCDP’s monthly meetings
• the expansion of our social media presence and activity on multiple platforms
• the creation of voting centers in Hays County to make voting easier and more accessible
• and we turned Hays County blue in 2018!
More people than ever are now working to elect Democrats and advance Democratic values in Hays County, and Donna has shown that she values the talents and contributions of these volunteers because of her longtime service and participation in the Democratic Party’s activities, including serving as a precinct chair for many years. She has valuable experience and connections with the Texas Democratic Party, state and local organizations, neighboring county parties, and others who provide an extensive network of allies who work in conjunction with HCDP to reach our ultimate goal: electing Democrats up and down the ballot.
A 20-year resident of Hays County, Donna has great team-building skills, provides steady leadership, is approachable, and welcomes the adoption of new tools and methods. She has the rare mix of a rabble-rousing personality that likes to win along with a pragmatic approach that is necessary for building the party for the long term. Her focus is on the continued growth of our county party, not on running for a higher office — that, along with her many years of experience as not only HCDP chair but also as a past president of the Texas State Teachers Association, are important for leading us through this critical election year.
