Cody Cheatham for Hays County Constable Precinct 1

It has been a career goal and a dream of mine to serve my community as Constable in the town I was raised in since the day I was born. I have a passion for the youth, public safety and my community and I want to build positive relationships amongst our community.

I have 12 years of Law Enforcement experience, 9 years with the Hays County Sheriff’s Office and 3 years with Hays County Constable Office Precinct 3. I graduated from San Marcos High School, attended Hill Junior College and Texas State University. I recently graduated from Texas Constable Leadership College at Sam Houston State University. I am attending Leadership Command College which is an intense leadership program. I have my advanced Peace Officer, Jailer and communication license, I’m a Mental Health Officer, TCOLE Instructor License, and IPMBA Police Bike Patrol Certification. I am a Corporal with Hays County Constable Precinct 3 office which is a leadership role within the agency. I was also elected as the Athletic Booster Club President for our local San Marcos Goodnight Middle School. I am also the founder of Texas Bad Boys Youth Basketball Organization.

Build the youth

As an Active Youth Advocate for over 20 years, I have Invested my time and effort into the youth. The youth are the foundation of our community and our future leaders and it is pivotal that a mentor provides a blueprint for their success.

Public Safety and Community Involvement

Public safety security is the function of Law Enforcement Agencies which ensures the protection of our citizens in our Community. One way that I will ensure Public Safety is establish is through trust, confidence and building relationships among the community. The way that my office will accomplish this is, by providing Community Outreach Programs. In our constituents time of need they know they can depend on Precinct 1 and have the confidence that we will get the job done right.

Rebuilding a Broken Relationship Between Law Enforcement Agencies and Precinct 1

There’s a lack of communication and a failure to work with one another to accomplish a common goal. Precinct 1 has isolated themselves from other agencies. My goal is to establish a better line of communication among agencies in the San Marcos area.
