Hays County Democratic Party is proud to host the annual celebration of LBJ’s birthday. “LBJ’s Boot Scootin’ Birthday Fiesta” will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 3 PM – 6 PM at Stone Hall in Texas Old Town in Kyle. The birthday fiesta and fundraiser will feature Democratic office holders and candidates, a catered enchilada casserole dinner with sides, salad, and drinks, music, art, a live auction, and a Texas-sized good time with fellow Democrats. Hays County Democrats have a long tradition of celebrating LBJ’s legacy. As our 36th President, Lyndon Baines Johnson was a champion of civil rights and guided by strong beliefs in fighting poverty and a vision for the Great Society.

“Our beautiful America was built by a nation of strangers. From a hundred different places or more they have poured forth into an empty land, joining and blending in one mighty and irresistible tide.

The land flourished because it was fed from so many sources–because it was nourished by so many cultures and traditions and peoples.”

– President Lyndon B. Johnson’s Remarks at the Signing of the Immigration Bill, Liberty Island, New York, October 3, 1965
