Cecelia Adair offers experience and a long history of accomplishment
Cecelia Adair has served as Hays County District Clerk since 1995 and will proudly begin her fourth term January 1, 2007. She has been a resident of Hays County for over 33 years and brings a wealth of experience to the office having served as a deputy district clerk from 1966 - 1995.
Cecelia has been nominated as Clerk of the Year by Region IV of the County and District Clerks Association of Texas four times and has served on many committees for the organization. She currently serves as the Treasurer for the Texas District Court Alliance and is a member of the Office of Court Administrations' Judicial Data Workgroup. In addition she has served as Legislative Committee Co-Chair, Texas District Court Alliance; as Director of the County & District Clerk's Association; Member of the Board of Directors Texas District Court Alliance; Chair of the Legislative Committee, Texas Association of Child Support Registries.
As Chair and Co-Chair of the Legislative Committee for the County & District Clerk's Association, Mrs. Adair has prepared and delivered numerous legislative updates at region meetings and association continuing education conferences. In addition she has been a speaker at the Texas Association of Counties Legislative Conference 74th & 76th Legislative sessions; and has annually been invited to update the Hays County Bar Assn. on new legislation.
In addition to service to her professional organizations, Cecelia Adair has served as a Member of the Board of Directors, Risk Management Pool and the Policy Analysis Group for the Texas Association of Counties; as Civil Process Faculty Member, Texas Justice Court Training Center, Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University at San Marcos); as Clerk for the Third Administrative Judicial District; and was the author of the Return Dates for Process Issued Under Texas Rules of Civil Procedure; a pamphlet published annually that contains the return dates on civil process and a comprehensive list of applicable rules.
Cecelia Adair has served her community in various capacities: on the Board of Directors, Hays Caldwell Women's Center; member San Marcos Chamber of Commerce; member Hays County Women's Political Caucus; past president Ladies Civitan Club; past member of Hays Booster Club, Buda Women's Club, and various committee assignments for Hays C.I.S.D. PTO.
