Anna Martinez Boling, HCDP Chair
Anna Martinez Boling received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Southwest Texas State University, now Texas State University, in 1990. While attending school, Boling worked in San Marcos at Sign Arts and later at SignCrafters as a sign artist. She then went on to attend St. Mary’s University School of Law for her Juris Doctor and graduated May 1994. Boling became licensed to practice law in Texas in November 1994 and began her practice in Seguin, Texas as a solo practitioner before the family moved to El Paso where she began working as a prosecutor with the El Paso District Attorney’s office. The Bolings decided to move back to San Marcos in October 1998 and Boling opened her doors at the “Law Office of Anna Martinez Boling” in San Marcos shortly thereafter and they remain open to this date. She worked doing criminal defense work and family law work before deciding to provide family law legal services only. She practices exclusively in the Hays County, Caldwell County, Comal County, and Guadalupe County area but the majority of her work is in Hays County.
Boling is a member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas and is a Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolutions section member. Boling is also a trained Mediator and received additional training in Family Law mediation. Boling practices Collaborative Law and is one of the co-founders of the Hill Country Collaborative Law Group (HCCLG), based out of Hays County. Boling is a past President and past Vice-President of the Hays County Bar Association (HCBA). Boling is also on the Board of Directors of the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center (HCWC), is a past State Bar of Texas District 15C-1 Grievance Committee Member, is on the Board of Directors of the Hays County Bar Association, and has assisted in providing continuing legal education programs for HCBA members as well as participated in programs to educate the general public on legal issues.
Boling and her husband are also certified Master Gardeners, trained through the Hays County Extension Service, and are members of the Hays County Master Gardeners Association. Boling herself tends the gardens at the Hays County Justice Center and headed up the group of local attorneys, courthouse staff, and community volunteers who planted the gardens in the Spring of 2005. Boling is also working with Fuentes Elementary 4th Grade Teacher, Shannon Waits, to maintain the Jr. Master Gardener Program in Hays County. Fuentes Elementary is in Kyle.
Boling has been married to Mark E. Boling for over thirteen years and the Bolings are proud parents of a little daughter, Maia Isabella, born October 2004.
