Long time Wimberley resident Elizabeth Sumter was elected Hays County Judge, beating incumbent Jim Powers, by citing her belief that the old ways just won’t work anymore and that the demands of the 21st century call for an innovative leader who is ready to meet challenges head-on.
Sumter believes Hays County government needs to be responsive and accountable to all citizens, not just a few special interest groups. “It is about your county government working in the best interests of all citizens, not just for a select few” said Sumter.
Sumter is committed to being a full time judge and promises to lead a commissioners’ court that will work in harmony for the good of all Hays County citizens and will not cater to special interest groups.
Sumter’s campaign conducted the largest door-to-door County Judge Petition Drive Hays county has ever seen. She energized grassroots support for the "People’s Campaign."
Sumter welcomes your support, energy and input to Hays County issues.
