Since 1995, Lloyd Doggett has been putting his seniority to work for the people of Central Texas. He is a senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee, which is in charge of our tax laws, trade policy Social Security and Medicare.

Lloyd has been a champion of fiscal responsibility, and has been honored by national organizations such as the Concord Coalition for his efforts to cut the deficit. Taxpayers for Common Sense, a non-partisan budget watchdog group, ranked Lloyd Doggett as the number one most fiscally responsible Congressman in Texas for nine years in a row.
He was the first person ever to be honored as an Environmental Champion by the Texas League of Conservation Voters. Lloyd Doggett has been ranked as a 100 percent supporter by the Sierra Club and received an "A" from the American Wilderness Coalition.
Lloyd Doggett has been a strong supporter of public schools. His wife, Libby, previously taught in Austin public schools and is now the director of a nationwide non-profit dedicated to early childhood education. Lloyd was recently inducted into the Austin Independent School District Hall of Fame for his untiring support of our schools.
